Following a significant number of responses to the Criminal Litigation Accreditation Scheme (CLAS) consultation, we are currently analysing the feedback and examining the important issues that have been raised.
We will not be implementing reaccreditation until we have completed this analysis and considered the issues properly. We expect to be able to make a further announcement in the autumn.
May we take this opportunity to remind you that your membership of CLAS is valid until 31 December 2012 in any case. We will ensure that any scheme is implemented with sufficient time for practitioners to be able to cope with the new requirements.
