  • Get help logging in to My Law Society

    I have forgotten my username

    If you have forgotten your username, get a reminder.

    If you have tried and failed to log in more than five times, your account will be locked for 15 minutes.

    You cannot use your mySRA account details to log in to My Law Society, you will need to register.

    I requested a username or password reminder but I didn't get one

    If you do not receive a reminder, please check your spam folder. If you are using a computer on a corporate network, you may also wish to check with your network support that the email is not being blocked.

    Username and password reminders apply only to My Law Society accounts. You cannot use your mySRA account details to log in to My Law Society, you will need to register.

    My Law Society will always say it has generated an email, even if no account exists for those details. This is a security measure to stop hackers guessing logins, and is intended to help keep your account safe.

    You can call our Support Centre on 020 7242 1222 or email thesupportcentre@lawsociety.org.uk for help resolving problems with your account.

    I know my username and password but I still can't log in

    You may not have validated your account. When you create a My Law Society account, we'll send an activation link to the email address you used to register.

    You should check your email and activate your account.

    You cannot use your mySRA account details to log in to My Law Society, you will need to register.

    I did not receive an activation email

    Please check your spam folder. If you are using a computer on a corporate network, you may also wish to check with your network support that the email is not being blocked.

    Attempting to log in will generate a new activation email, which will be sent to your registered email address.

    All emails are sent to the email that you registered with.

    Please note some users have experienced problems receiving activation emails to BT Internet and AOL email accounts. If you think your email provider may be blocking the email, add no-reply@lawsociety.org.uk to your safe senders list and attempt to log in in order to generate a new email.

    My activation email has expired

    Activation emails expire after 48 hours.

    Attempting to log in will generate a new activation email, which will be sent to your registered email address.

    I don't know my registered email

    My account is locked, what should I do?

    If you try to log in five times with incorrect details, your account will be locked. This is to prevent automated hacking attempts.

    Your account will automatically unlock after 15 minutes. You can also reset your password.

    I am seeing a service unavailable message

    If during the log in or registration process you see a 'Service unavailable' page, we may be experiencing a temporary fault. You should report it to the Law Society Support Centre on 020 7242 1222 or email thesupportcentre@lawsociety.org.uk.
