The
Law Society has an important responsibility to represent every member
of the profession and to support the profession in its efforts to
reflect the society it serves and achieve an approach to inclusion that
meets the expectations of solicitors and their clients today. In
December 2011, the Law Society Council agreed an Equality and Diversity
Framework for 2012-2015.
This
framework sets out the equality and diversity objectives for the Law
Society for 2012-15. These specific objectives have been aligned to the
Society's three core goals. The objectives will drive improvement in the
Society's and the profession's business performance and significantly
accelerate the rate of progress towards equality of opportunity, greater
diversity of the profession and effective, inclusive working practices.
