What is Lexcel?
Lexcel is the Law Society's international practice management standard. It is a scheme for any type of practice to certify that certain standards have been met following independent assessment. The Lexcel practice management standard is only awarded to solicitors who meet the highest management and customer care standards. Lexcel accredited practices undergo rigorous independent assessment every year to ensure they meet required standards of excellence in areas such as client care, case management and risk management.
How does Lexcel work?
Lexcel assessment is a simple and transparent process which is:
- independently assessed
- available to any size or type of practice including in-house, local government and sole practitioners
- flexible - only specifying standards, not procedures
- valid for three years with annual monitoring visits
- able to be combined with other quality standards
Important notice for Lexcel accredited firms
We are delighted to inform you that our valued Lexcel accredited firms will have exclusive access to competitive 2012 PII renewal quotes.
The Law Society has been working on a PII facility for Lexcel accredited firms for some months following the pilot undertaken last year. The aim is to give you access to more competitive quotes to hopefully reduce your PII premium for 2012. We are delighted that our accredited practices' achievement in meeting the rigorous standards set by Lexcel may be recognised by our PII insurance partner.
We are finalising details with the chosen insurance provider at the moment and will contact Lexcel accredited firms shortly with more detailed information. If you are interested in this opportunity, register your interest by emailing us at: piirenewals@lawsociety.org.uk. All expressions of interest will be forwarded to the chosen provider to follow-up with you directly - this will not create any obligation on your part.
This is one of the many ways we are working hard to ensure that Lexcel continues to bring benefits to you.
