Accredited practices

Once your firm has been accredited, you will receive:

• Certificate of accreditation
• Window sticker, A3 CQS poster and A4 CQS charter
• Entry on the www.lawsocietyapproved.com website
• Access to the scheme logo which can be used on stationery, promotional material and your website
• Access to a template press release (also available on the logo site) to help you publicise your scheme membership

Assessing and auditing CQS firms

In order for CQS to be able to demonstrate that as a group, members of CQS are complying with the rigours of membership, we have commenced a process of assessing and auditing CQS members against the rigours of the scheme.

Mandatory training

Relevant persons within accredited practices are required to carry out mandatory training each year.

Year 1

• CQS - the role of the Senior Responsible Officer (mandatory for the SRO)
  Price: £30 (£36.00 including VAT @ 20%)
• CQS - Law Society Conveyancing Protocol (mandatory for all relevant persons)
  Price: £60 (£72.00 including VAT @ 20%)
• CQS - Core Practice Management Standards (optional course)
  Price: £60 (£72.00 including VAT @20%)

Year 2 reaccreditation

• CQS - standard practice and procedure (mandatory for Qualified and Unqualified Conveyancers)
  Price: £60 (£72.00 including VAT @ 20%)
• CQS - understanding mortgage fraud (mandatory for Qualified and Unqualified Conveyancers)
  Price £60.00 (£72.00 including VAT @ 20%)

Year 3 accreditation

• Online CPD course booking form (PDF 566kb)

New starters

In line with the practice agreement, please advise us within 14 days of any new starters or leavers by completing the relevant form below:

• New SRO and/or HOC (Word)
• New managers (Word)
• New qualified conveyancers (Word)
• New accounts staff (Word)
• New non-qualified conveyancers and key support staff (Word)

Leavers

In line the practice agreement, please advise us within 14 days of any leavers by contacting the CQS office.

Mergers

If you are a CQS firm and contemplating a merger, please complete the merger notification form (Word) and send it to the CQS Office.
