The requirement for all offices to have a supervisor in place by 1 April 2013 in order to be awarded a contract has seen a significant increase in the number of candidates undertaking the supervision exam in the February 2013 round.
The results of that examination are not due to be published until mid-April as a result of which those firms that had hoped to commence new contracts as from 1 April who had not already met the supervisor requirement would be unable to do so and consequently not be able to secure a contract.
As a consequence we are working with CLT and the examining board who have rescheduled the assessment process to enable results of the supervisor exams to be released prior to the 1 April deadline.
In order to be eligible to be approved as a supervisor the candidate must also have passed level 2 or maintained re-accreditation at level 2. There are a small number of candidates who are sitting the level 2/reaccreditation at level 2 in the February round as well as their supervisor examinations. We are aiming to ensure that the results of those candidates sitting both are also available before 1 April 2013 which will mean that the results of some level 2/reaccreditation candidates will exceptionally be received earlier.
If you are sitting the level 2 examinations or reaccreditation at level 2 and also sitting the supervisor examination, and any contract bid is dependent upon you being able to meet both these requirements please let CLT know by email as soon as possible with candidate numbers. There are an estimated 12 candidates so affected who have already been identified, but if there are others who have not yet been identified, it is imperative that you come forward now
This step is being taken to try and minimise the potential disruption caused to firms in their bidding arrangements that would otherwise be in jeopardy due to the fact that they may not have entered candidates for these examinations until the February round. It is an exceptional step and has only been achieved with the significant assistance of CLT.
