LSC claim checklists and email support team

As part of the initiative to cut civil legal aid bill rejections the Legal Services Commission (LSC) has taken some practical steps to address problems.

This includes:

  • checklists for staff and providers
  • balancing time spent looking at forms with errors against processing improvements
  • a new 'reject' email address to contact the LSC: lsccivilclaimfix@legalservices.gsi.gov.uk - this should be used where you feel a civil claim has been incorrectly rejected. All requests will be responded to within 24 hours. This email address can only be used to ask about rejected claims. It is not for general enquiries.
  • online training sessions (Webex)

Practitioners should ensure that they are using recently revised version 2 checklists.
