If you need independent advice and guidance about a disciplinary issue, contact the Solicitors’ Assistance Scheme.

If you’re facing a possible conduct issue, or are subject to a Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) investigation or Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) proceedings and interventions, contact the SRA.

For help or advice about regulatory issues, including authorisation processes, contact the SRA professional ethics helpline.

If you’re facing problems relating to your practice or practice viability, including issues to do with anti-money laundering, conveyancing, costs, litigation, probate and other areas of law, contact our Practice Advice Service.

LawCare offers free confidential support, information and training to the legal community to help with mental health and wellbeing problems. Its trained staff and volunteers have first-hand experience of working in the law.

It's available to lawyers, their staff and their immediate families.

Our Practice Advice Service offers support and guidance on all areas of legal practice and procedure.

The Solicitors’ Charity

The Solicitors’ Charity has been supporting solicitors in crisis since 1858.

When times are hard, it provides financial, emotional and practical support to help people take back control.

Those in the legal profession can raise awareness of the Solicitor’s Charity by:

  • volunteering
  • fundraising, or
  • telling a friend about what the charity does and how it can help those in times of need or crisis
