Family mediation: finding a mediator

Question

I am aware that under the new pre-application protocol for family matters, all potential applicants for a court order are expected to attend a mediation information assessment meeting (MIAM). How can I find a mediator?

Answer

The protocol does not provide a definition of family mediator. However, you should ensure that any referral you make is to an appropriately qualified and experienced family mediator. Details of the Law Society Family Mediation Panel and how to access its practitioner members can be found on our website.

For further information, please see chapter 7 of the Law Society's practice note on family mediation.
