Human trafficking advice

Question

A lady has requested advice in relation to her claim that she has been a victim of human trafficking. Does The Law Society provide any advice on this issue?

Answer

Yes. The Law Society has issued a practice note entitled 'Criminal prosecutions of victims of trafficking'.

It outlines the main provisions of the relevant conventions, informs practitioners of specific Crown Prosecution Service guidance and highlights the duty to enquire, and where necessary, investigate further, any claim that an individual is a credible victim of trafficking.
