The Group Risk & Assurance team provides independent assurance to executive and principal governance forums that key strategic and operational risks are managed/ mitigated and that key controls operate effectively.
The Group Risk Management lead will ensure a Group risk framework is prepared and maintained by managing the monitoring and reporting on the key strategic and operational risks and related key controls to ensure risk management across the Group. The post will involve regular travel between the Midlands and London offices.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have the following:
- Educated to degree-level with a recognised qualification in risk management
- Risk management expert with experience of using risk management tools
- Strong communication skills, written and oral, with the ability to engage, influence and challenge colleagues and stakeholders across the Society
- Proven experience of managing risk-related activity in a complex organisation
- Proven experience of providing risk management training
- Proven experience of managing the co-ordination of business continuity planning
- Proven experience of providing business continuity planning training
- A good understanding of the business operations of a complex organisation
- Experience of leading and managing staff
