An opportunity has arisen within Group HRD for a HRD Consultant. This role is to provide maternity cover, principally to support the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), at a time of change and transformation for the organisation.

You will need to be adept and proactive at establishing and building credible relationships with managers, employees and various representatives. The environment will be highly pressured, fast paced and demanding. Given the nature of the role there will be multiple projects and issues to deal with at any one time and of varying complexity - with a large amount of the work supporting structural and operational changes. The ability to deliver against business focused service level agreements will be essential, as will the role holders ability to proactively support the business partners in crafting and delivering key recommendations for the senior team and managers to ensure the effective resolution of projects and issues.
You will need good analytical and communication skills, confidently explaining the rationale for advice and decisions with an ability to handle confrontational situations while remaining calm.
Essential will be an ability to work with multiple customers who are at times assertive, at times uncertain. Risk based advice will need to be solution orientated and business focused. Encouraging managers to take ownership and responsibility for the delivery of their business plan will be fundamental to the success of this role.
While a CIPD qualification and experience of the application of employment law and HR best practice is desirable, any equivalent job-related knowledge/experience is of interest provided the essential behaviours and skills can be demonstrated.
