Support to help you succeed in Advocacy
Ensure you have the support you need to stay at the forefront of advocacy and to deal with the challenges faced by solicitor advocates. Our Advocacy Section training programme can help civil, family and criminal advocates to compete successfully with other professional advocates and meet the challenges of daily practice.
The needs of criminal advocates are currently most acute and the section will help you prepare for the introduction of the new assessment regime, the Quality Assurance Scheme for Advocates (QASA).

Find out how the Law Society can support you, join the Advocacy Section today. The Advocacy Section will provide you with guidance, information, training as well as networking opportunities on a circuit and national level. It was developed in response to feedback from solicitor advocates, and aims to provide support equivalent to that delivered by Inns of Court, creating a supportive community of peers and judges.
Who can join
Advocacy Section membership is open to all solicitors and paralegals employed by solicitor advocates.

Criminal advocacy courses
During 2012, the Advocacy Section ran successful pilot criminal advocacy courses pitched at a level equivalent to QASA level 2/Higher Rights. More are planned for 2013.
