This year's on-line practising certificate renewal will run from Thursday 1 November for a six week period until Friday, 14 December 2012.
As a result of feedback received by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) from last year's renewal exercise, it has made a number of improvements to the application process. For latest updates and further information please see the mySRA pages on the SRA website.
Part of the work it has done is to make sure the online process meets a higher standard of accessibility this year. It has tested the process with users across the profession and has commissioned the Digital Accessibility Centre to test the systems using a range of assistive technologies used by people with a disability.
The SRA are confident that people will find the online process much easier to use this year, but if there is a need for it to make further reasonable adjustments for people with a disability that impacts their use of the internet, it will respond individually to these requests. People in this situation should call the the SRA contact centre on 0870 606 2555 (inside the UK) during the following hours:
- 08:00-18:00, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
- 09:30-18:00, Tuesday.
