Freedom of information

Our code of practice

We're not covered by the Freedom of Information Act 2000, but we believe in being as open as possible about what we do.

We already make a lot of information available on our website as this is how we usually promote our work and activities.

Our freedom of information code of practice tells you how you can ask for information if you cannot find it on our website.

It explains:

  • how to make a request for information and if there might be a cost
  • how we handle a request for information
  • what information we may not provide to you
  • what to do if you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your request

The code of practice only applies to information we hold. It excludes any information held by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).

If you're interested in information held by the SRA, refer to the SRA Transparency Code.
