VHCC Panel: meeting minutes

Following rejection of the Legal Services Commission's proposals on a new VHCC scheme, the VHCC Working Group will continue to work together to design an acceptable scheme. The working group comprises the Bar Council, Law Society, Legal Services Commission and Ministry of Justice.

Agreement has been reached to develop separate payment schemes for litigators and advocates for VHCC work, with litigators' fees remaining largely as they are within the current scheme. Bar Council Working Group members aim to develop a form of graduated fee scheme for advocates. This work can only succeed if sufficient data is gathered from VHCC Panel firms. A request for data form has been sent to firms and you are urged to return the form to facilitate this work.
