Legal Sector adopts online Carbon Management

Law firms across England and Wales now have the opportunity to measure and report their carbon emissions online.

The Legal Sector Alliance [LSA], an inclusive movement of law firms and legal organisations committed to working collaboratively to take action on climate change, and Greenstone Carbon Management, a global specialist carbon solutions company, are announcing a partnership to provide an online portal for LSA member firms to measure and report their carbon emissions.

LSA members will be able to calculate and report their carbon emissions using Greenstone's online Acco2unt Carbon Management Solution.

  1. The free tool will enable LSA members to process data more quickly and with greater accuracy as part of the annual reporting process. It will help law firms of all sizes to calculate and report their carbon emissions in an easy and time efficient way.

Law Society Chief Executive Desmond Hudson said: “The online portal provided by Greenstone will provide our members with a user friendly tool to upload their business data and review their performance year on year. It will make our annual reporting process much more efficient and enable us to focus more time on advising firms how to reduce their carbon emissions.”

Matthew de Villiers, Chief Executive at Greenstone said: “We are delighted to be providing LSA with an online carbon management portal. Many LSA members already subscribe to our full Acco2unt solution and this project is a logical extension of our work in the legal sector. It is becoming increasingly clear that industry organisations like the LSA need to have efficient central processes, tools and administration to measure, report and benchmark carbon emissions and these environments are ideal for our Acco2untportal solution.”
