Council elections 2017 nominations now open
Do you want to make a real difference to solicitors working in England and Wales?
Nominations for seats on the Law Society Council are now open and we need the enthusiasm, skill, experience and knowledge of our members to help shape our work.
As the Law Society’s governing body, the Council:
- decides our position on major policy issues
- sets our budget
- recommends the level of the practising certificate fee to the Legal Services Board
- agrees the business plan that budget will deliver.
Nominations are encouraged from all eligible solicitors, irrespective of gender, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation or disability, and some seats are also reserved for candidates that meet specific criteria for a demographic group.
To see what vacancies are available and to nominate yourself, see the preliminary notice of Council elections 2017.
