Each year the Law Society conducts research to understand the extent to which firms experience difficulties in obtaining professional indemnity insurance (PII). As well as providing a 2012 market snapshot, a new section in this year's survey will capture solicitors' level of satisfaction with their brokers. We will use the findings from this research to lobby the SRA and the insurance industry in the interest of the profession, and to produce guidance and products to assist our members.
The research provides a much needed overview of solicitors' experiences in purchasing PII. The PII representative from a random sample of 600 firms will be interviewed by telephone over the next few months.
