Land Registry will close its telephone ordering services on 14 December 2012. The closure is a result of a 96 per cent drop in demand for the service and follows a consultation that was held earlier this year.
Users can now sign up to Land Registry's online business e-services. Sign up is free. Further information about business e-services and how to apply can be found on Land Registry's website or by telephoning 0844 892 1111.
Business e-services will be available from 06:30 to 22:00 on weekdays and from 07:00 to 17:00 on Saturdays.
Land Charges legislation will be amended to enable Land Registry and Land Charges telephone order services to close. The legislation will come into effect on 17 December 2012 but the telephone ordering service will end at close of business on 14 December 2012. The telephone enquiries service will remain open, so solicitors can still call Land Registry's Customer Support team with general enquiries.
