Legal aid for victims of the Grenfell Tower fire

Those who have suffered as a consequence of the Grenfell Tower fire, including relatives of the deceased, may require legal advice in a wide range of legal issues arising from the fire. In addition to this, residents of tower blocks discovered to have similar cladding to that of Grenfell Tower may also require legal advice.

This briefing document comprises:

  • Guidance from the Legal Aid Agency (LAA) for providers who wish to access legal aid for victims of major incidents
  • Law Society update regarding the impact of lump sum payments from government on legal aid eligibility
  • Information regarding pro bono advice and pro bono cost orders.
