Legal files lost after unencrypted laptop theft

The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has warned that lawyers must have adequate security measures in place to protect sensitive data. It follows an incident where a Scottish advocate breached the Data Protection Act after failing to encrypt a laptop containing legal files, which was later stolen.
