Survey on proposed crime fee cuts - we need your response

2 May 2013

Deadline for responses extended to 27 May

The Law Society has engaged Otterburn Consulting to undertake research into the financial situation of firms undertaking criminal legal aid work, to better understand the potential impact on the supplier base of the government's proposals for the reform of criminal legal aid.

As part of this work, the Society has launched a survey in order to gain crucial data about the financial situation of individual firms, and specifically the likely impact of the proposed 17.5 per cent cut to fees for criminal work.

It is vital that as many as possible of you respond to this survey, if we are to demonstrate with any credibility to the government the level of damage that their proposals are likely to cause.

To respond please download and complete the survey questionnaire spreadsheet (available below), and email your responses to: by Monday 27 May.

You will need access to your latest annual or management accounts to answer some questions. The survey should take no more than 45 minutes to complete.
