DCLG consultation on planning for housing - Law Society response

22 November 2017

The Law Society's Planning and Environmental Law Committee recently responded to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG)consultation, Planning for the right homes in the right places.

The consultation sought views on a range of proposals, including on a standard method for calculating local authorities’ housing need, a statement of common ground (to work alongside the Duty to Co-operate), and improving the use of viability assessments.

The Committee’s response was made in collaboration with the City of London Law Society, and aided by communication with the Planning and Environmental Bar Association (PEBA).
