The homelessness code of guidance for local authorities - Law Society response

8 January 2018

The Law Society's Housing Law Committee recently responded to the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) consultation on a Homelessness Code of Guidance for Local Authorities.

The consultation sought views on revised guidance to accompany the implementation of the Homeless Reduction Act in April 2018. The Committee was generally positive about the intention behind the revised code but concerned that important detail should not be lost with the proposed removal of annexes.

Our submission also made an extensive range of detailed suggestions for additions and amendments, drawing on the Committee’s extensive experience in this field.
