The Legal Ombudsman's consultation on their business plan and budget 2018-19 - Law Society response
The Legal Ombudsman has asked for comments on its proposed business plan and budget for 2018/19.
How the Ombudsman proposes to spend the money generated from solicitors’ practising certificate fees is an important issue. We note that costs are budgeted to rise and that there is a back-log of cases. We would like to see more detail about how the Ombudsman will manage to reduce the average cost of dealing with a complaint in their proposals. There should be an efficient and effective complaints handling process with a strong focus on achieving high quality investigation and decisions.
