Welsh Government consultation on fitness for human habitation - Law Society response

17 January 2018

The Law Society's Housing Law Committee has submitted its views to the Welsh Government on its consultation on Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 - Fitness for human habitation.

The Committee were broadly in favour of the proposals listed but expressed concern that ambiguity over the detail of what might constitute failure against any of the 29 criteria listed could lead to a large rise in speculative claims, and unnecessarily large bills for landlords.
