What is the Planning Law Accreditation Scheme?

The Planning Law Accreditation Scheme covers all work undertaken by solicitors and suitably qualified Fellows of the Institute of Legal Executives (FILEX) arising out of the processes of obtaining planning permission for the erection or change of use of buildings.

It covers all aspects of the work involved, including negotiations, disputes and appeals.

Who's a member?

To view all current members of our Planning Law Accreditation Scheme download a list of members [PDF, 67kb], this list is updated each month. Members of the public can also search accredited members through our accreditation site search.

How do I apply?

The general scheme application criteria and guidance [PDF, 121kb] is applicable to all Law Society accreditation schemes and should be read before starting the application process.

In order to complete the application process for the Planning Law Accreditation Scheme, please follow the steps below:

  2. Download and complete the following forms:

  4. Check the Law Society Accreditation Scheme fee schedule [PDF, 66kb] for fee information.
  5. Print, sign and post forms with the appropriate fee to the address below.
