Client care letters
In force from 3 July 2008
Client care letters are a vital tool for communicating essential information to your client at the outset of a retainer. The information contained in a client care letter can outline the parameters of the retainer and be used as evidence against complaints of insufficient information or inadequate professional services.
This practice note provides examples of how you can communicate all of the information required by rule 2 of the Solicitors' Code of Conduct to your clients in a clear and effective manner.
We recommend that you refer to this online version to stay up-to-date with changes.
