Withdrawing from a criminal case

Issues arise when you are considering either withdrawing from representing a defendant, or taking on a transferred case, close to or in the course of the trial. Once the criminal trial process is engaged, you owe professional obligations both to the defendant/s for whom you act, but also to the court.
