Shortlisted: Susan Bright - Lovells LLP
Susan is head of and manages a 12 partner competition practice at Lovells, a practice which has more than 40 lawyers throughout Europe, Asia and the US. As a manager she has achieved a number of milestones including increasing her practice’s turnover by over 50% and she has more than doubled the profitability of her group.
Rita has been Global Head of Training and Know-How at Allen & Overy since 2003. During that time she has been committed to developing a suite of learning activities to help solicitors achieve their career aspirations. She has developed structured online and 'on the go' training programmes, and helped introduce a University of Banking Course for overseas solicitors.
Clare has responsibility for 40 lawyers over a wide range of areas including M&As, restructuring, debt and equity capital markets and credit derivatives and commodities. Since Nomura’s acquisition of the Lehman business Clare has successfully led her team in addressing the legal issues following the Lehman collapse. She has successfully integrated a large number of new solicitors into her department.
Sarah is the managing partner of this high street firm in Huddersfield and employs 39 staff. She has implemented a number of initiatives to help develop her staff, including the introduction of appraisals and performance management measures. She has been successful in improving staff morale and satisfaction, as evidenced by client surveys.
