Winner: Darren Hill - United Utilities

One of Darren's outsourced lawyers commented: 'He is a challenging client to work for but in the best sense of the word … and he goes that extra mile on a daily basis.' The judges agreed he is an inspiring role model.


Highly commended: Alexandra Loxton - Anthony Collins Solicitors LLP

Alexandra provides the highest level of care, delivering outstanding results. She created a firm-wide ILEX Forum and campaigns to encourage ILEX Fellows to apply for judicial appointments.


Shortlisted: Stuart Cartwright - JMW Solicitors

Stuart was one of the first three legal executives in England and Wales to be given full rights of audience. He also deals with a varied caseload from complex money laundering investigations to simple motoring matters. Within 16 months of achieving his rights as an advocate he has won the majority of his road traffic cases that have gone to trial, evidencing his skill in preparing and presenting cases. Shortlisted: Harbens Kaur - Homerton Hospital

Harbens works as an NHS defendant lawyer and is a legal services claims adviser for an acute London hospital working mainly on clinical negligence cases, specifically brain damaged babies. She is the sole member of the office and is passionate about her work. She also provides legal support to clinicians. Harbens is an ILEX Fellow.

Shortlisted: Rhapsody-Angel Skillcorn - Saunders and Company

Rhapsody-Angel qualified as a legal executive while employed full-time. After working for a number of firms she found an employer who had confidence in her and allowed her to build up her own practice. She was made co-partner at Saunders and Company at the age of 28. Rhapsody- Angel is an ILEX Fellow.
