The judges looked for practices that effectively adopted the Lexcel framework into their business strategies in order to drive continuous improvement and prove their commitment to best practice.
The judges were impressed that Plymouth based Foot Anstey have developed their commitment to excellence by establishing a Quality Directorate. The judges took particular note that a 'Client Experience Project' was implemented to understand and improve the service received by clients.
Shortlisted: Bott & Co (Cheshire)
The firm used Lexcel as an agent for change and through employee engagement put in place systems to ensure excellence across all areas of the practice. Bott & Co's initiative IT, such as client internet access, was particular noted by the judges.
Shortlisted: Durham County Council Legal Department (Durham)
Durham County Council's legal department demonstrated a passion to go beyond the Lexcel standard. In order to achieve this they implemented a bespoke Quality Assurance System which not only guaranteesd compliance with practice management but also ensured the highest quality of work provided by the service.
Shortlisted: Pannone LLP (Manchester)
Pannone LLP demonstrated a long term commitment to the pursuit of excellence. As part of its culture, the firm strongly embedded excellence in practice standards. The judges were impressed that Pannone LLP was developing bespoke case management systems to suit individual client requirements.
Shortlisted: Thring Townsend Lee & Pembertons (Bath)
This firm demonstrated a real commitment to Lexcel. Since receiving this accreditation it changed the culture of the firm. Staff at all levels were involved and thrived on providing the best possible client care. The judges were impressed that following an independent risk audit the firm were in the process of building an IT package on risk management.
