Justice and Security Bill - Lords - report stage - Law Society briefing

The Society has expressed its opposition to the extension of closed material proceedings to ordinary civil cases in its briefing for peers ahead of the bill’s report stage on Monday 12 November. The document reiterates the Society’s view – put forward at previous stages – that the proposals represent such a radical departure from the common law principles of natural and open justice that they cannot be justified.
