HM Land Registry to upgrade security of their online services

26 July 2017

HM Land Registry recommend users of their online services, via the HM Land Registry portal, access them through one of the browsers they support. This recommendation comes in preparation for their upgrade of security settings for their online services due to be published on 30th July 2017.

They officially support the current and previous major versions of the following browsers:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Mozilla FireFox
  • Google Chrome
  • Apple Safari

You will only be able to access the Business e-service through the portal, or search for property information with their online services if your browser supports the 'TLS 1.2 protocol' and if the relevant setting is enabled within your browser.

Their website provides an example of how this is done - although they do state they cannot offer technical support for enabling these settings.
