Robert Bourns, Law Society vice president and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee Member
Robert is senior partner at TLT and became vice president of the Law Society in July 2015.
Robert began his training in 1978 at Osborne Clarke and qualified in 1980. Robert has significant experience managing and developing a growing business across the UK, having been managing partner for six years and more recently senior partner at TLT.
He has been involved in local law societies for many years, having been a secretary and president of Bristol Law Society and secretary of the Association of South Western Law Societies.
Robert joined Council in 2011 and is an elected member of the Management Board. He is one of five representatives for the City of London constituency, a member of the Law Society's Equality and Diversity Committee and a member of the RAB Regulatory Processes Committee.
Sandie Okoro, general counsel, HSBC Global Asset Management
Sandie is global general counsel of HSBC Global Asset Management. Her previous roles have included global general counsel at Barings and head of legal for corporate services at Schroders.
In 2014, Sandie was awarded an honorary doctorate in Law by City University in recognition of her career in business and law and her voluntary work in the community to help others achieve the same success. She is passionate about mentoring and promoting diversity and inclusion to the City.
Sandie is a recipient of the 2014 Chambers Europe Award for Excellence in the category for outstanding contribution to the Legal Profession and has been named in the 2015 Powerlist as the fourth most influential black person in Britain.
