Law Society Insights Community

  • World mouse

The Law Society Insights Community is our online research panel. Launched in January 2014, the panel is an essential communication platform between us and our members.

  • The Insights Community is an online community of Law Society members who contribute their views regularly on a range of issues, from government and regulators' proposals affecting the legal sector, to practice issues and ways in which the Society can improve its value to the profession. Opinions and experiences are mainly captured through short surveys and online discussions.

Currently, the panel has over 1,300 members from various legal backgrounds.

We would like to invite you to join today.

What is in it for me?

In return, we share with community members the insight developed - which serves as useful benchmarking information - and provide updates about how the society has used the feedback to represent, promote and support Insights members and fellow solicitors.

The main way that we share this insight is through the Insights newsletter.

    Digital natives or silo workers?

New data from a survey of the Law Society’s membership suggests members’ online habits are rapidly evolving. We found 99 per cent of over 55s conduct online business research and that age and experience are no longer good indicators of whether legal professionals are digitally engaged today. This is despite evidence that younger members typically spend more time online. Our research also shows that digital usage tends to differ by sector.
