The Law Society's Wales Office is based in Cardiff. The office represents the Society's view and interests to the Welsh Assembly Government, Westminster, and Brussels. The office also handles press and media enquiries on legal issues in Wales. We offer a bi-lingual service.
Current issues:
- scrutiny and monitoring of new Welsh legislation
- legal aid and the Community Legal Service in Wales
- the use of the Welsh language
The office organises training and development courses and conferences across Wales for members of the profession.
The Law Society conducts research on the solicitors' profession in Wales and has produced a fact sheet that provides key figures on the profession for Wales up to November 2010.
