LawCare ground breaking research study - life in the law

Mental health and wellbeing of junior lawyers has always been a key priority for the Junior Lawyers Division and even more so this year.

As such we are delighted to support the launch of LawCare's research study which aims to explore the impact of work culture and working practices on the wellbeing of legal professionals in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man.

To do this, the study will use an online questionnaire to ask about an individual’s current workload and the requirements of their role.

LawCare research study

We encourage as many junior lawyers as possible to take part, as the results of this study will pave the way for determining what we can do as a profession to improve the support available to people working in the legal profession.

The data will help drive long lasting cultural change in legal workplaces to benefit both the present and future generation of lawyers and staff.

The results of this questionnaire will form the basis of an academic paper and will be used to improve the support available to legal professionals by enhancing understanding of the issues that affect mental health and wellbeing.

Take part in the study

The survey will remain open until 31 December 2020 with the results expected to be published in May 2021.
