Central government solicitors urged to vote in Council election

Members who work in central government can now vote for their representative to join the Law Society Council.

Following this year’s Council elections, we became aware of a data error in which a portion of the electorate for the central government seat were not supplied with a ballot. Consequently, the election for this seat is being rerun.

This was an isolated error, and no other seats are impacted.

How to vote

Members who are eligible to vote will automatically receive an electronic ballot via email from Civica Election Services (CES). The email will contain instructions on how to vote, which you can do before the vote closes at 4pm on 30 November 2021.

If you're eligible to vote and have not received a ballot, please contact councilelections@lawsociety.org.uk before 23 November 2021, to receive your ballot ahead of the deadline.

Our Council agrees the strategic direction of our work and collectively represents the views of all solicitors in England and Wales. To find out more about how we're governed, please visit our governance pages.

If you're a solicitor working in central government, this is an opportunity to help decide who should represent you and your views on the issues that matter to you most.
