Lucy Scott-Moncrief CBE

Lucy Scott-Moncrief qualified in 1978 and has worked in mental health and human rights as a legal aid lawyer for many years.
She set up the first virtual solicitors’ firm, now offering a wide range of public, private and commercial law services, which was able to continue without a hitch when the pandemic hit.
Lucy is a part-time judge on mental health tribunals and in the Court of Protection, having also been on the QC Appointments Panel, the Judicial Appointments Commission, Postcomm, a senior associate with Verita and the commissioner for standards at the House of Lords.
She has been involved with the Law Society since 1986, when she joined a sub-committee set up to deal with the first Law Society specialist panel.
Lucy was president of the Law Society from 2012 to 2013 and then chaired the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion committee for five years.
