How to apply
Our Clinical Negligence Accreditation is a recognised quality standard for practitioners representing claimants in clinical negligence matters.
To apply for accreditation, you’ll need to:
- meet the eligibility requirements
- submit a detailed application
- submit a portfolio
Step 1: Read the guidance
Before you begin your application, you must read the:
- general scheme application criteria and guidance (PDF 328 KB)
- Clinical Negligence Accreditation application form guidance notes (PDF 451 KB)
Step 2: Complete the application forms
As part of the application form, you'll need to provide a list of anonymised matters in your current caseload. If you cannot provide your own case management report or caseload spreadsheet, use our caseload template (Excel 30 KB).
Step 3: Submit your application
Your completed application is made up of:
- your application form
- your application portfolio form
- anonymised printout of current matter listing
Do not send files larger than 18 MB. If necessary, send your supporting documents in separate emails.
Step 4: Pay the application fee
We’ll send you an invoice when we receive your application.
The initial application fee is £618 (VAT included).
Step 5: Accreditation
Your application will be reviewed by an independent or external assessor from our panel of assessors.
We’ll let you know the outcome of your application once we’ve received your payment.
The accreditation process takes around six to eight weeks. It can take longer if we receive high volumes of applications or if you do not give us all the information we need.
If your application is unsuccessful, we’ll refund your membership fee.
You may appeal against our decision.
If you have any questions about the application process, contact our accreditations team.
