We stand as allies to our trans and non-binary colleagues
“This week marks Trans Awareness Week, which culminates in International Transgender Day of Remembrance on 20 November.
“Transgender Day of Remembrance invites us all to remember those who have lost their lives to anti-transgender violence and reflect on the discrimination suffered by transgender communities around the world.
“The solicitors’ profession strives to uphold justice and ensure equality for all under the legal system. Transphobia has no place in our profession or any part of wider society.
“The Law Society stands as an ally to trans and non-binary lawyers. We are proud to have you within the profession and stand with you in seeking equality and acceptance.
“The Law Society is committed to building a profession that is modern, diverse and inclusive for all.”
I. Stephanie Boyce, Law Society of England and Wales president, Lubna Shuja, Law Society vice president, Nick Emmerson, Law Society deputy vice president and Paul Tennant, Law Society chief executive.
