2019: 100 years of women in the law

2 November 2018

2019 will be 100 years since the Sex Disqualification (Removal) Act was passed, which paved the way for women to finally practise law - an important milestone in the slow progress towards the rights of women to fulfil their potential and gain ownership over their lives and futures.

The Law Society is supporting CARE International's March4Women which will mark this occasion in March 2019.

March4Women is a global movement for gender equality. This year's event on 4 March 2018 kickstarted a month of action for a more equal world.

March4Women is seeking sponsorship to make next year's event happen. For law firms this will be an opportunity to showcase your commitment to gender equality.
