LGBT History Month – can we help with your event?

23 November 2018

LGBT History Month takes place in February 2019, and our LGBT+ Lawyers Division will be celebrating it in a new way.

As well as hosting a speed networking event in Chancery Lane on Friday 1 February, we can support your event by offering attendance from a member of the LGBT+ committee or member of the Society's Diversity and Inclusion team and marketing support to help your event achieve greater impact.

Our representative can talk about what the Law Society is doing to support LGBT+ people in the profession, and also about their personal experience and knowledge.

We can advertise your event on social media and in communications to the LGBT+ Lawyers Division and provide branding showing it is supported by the Law Society.

The kind of event you hold is up to you. You may wish to mark a relevant anniversary.

For example, in 2019 it will be 30 years since Denmark became the first country to introduce registered same sex partnerships; 20 years since the Admiral Duncan bombing in Soho; 19 years since the ban on LGBT+ people serving in the military was lifted; 15 years since we introduced Civil Partnerships; and 15 years since the Gender Recognition Act.

If you would be interested in partnering with us for an event, please email LGBT@lawsociety.org.uk.
