Payment protection insurance claim deadline
A reminder that the Financial Conduct Authority’s deadline for making a claim for mis-sold payment protection insurance (PPI) is coming up on 29 August 2019.
PPI is the UK’s largest ever mis-selling scandal. 64 million PPI policies, representing £50 billion of cover, were sold by banks, building societies and credit card companies.
If a PPI mis-sale claim is not made before the Financial Conduct Authority’s deadline, the right to claim will be lost.
Given the imminent deadline, practitioners may wish to assess how they communicate details to clients who may be impacted.
