Annual state of the profession survey

27 June 2019

We’re working with Future Thinking, an independent research agency, to pilot a new approach to this year’s annual 'state of the profession' survey.

Future Thinking will conduct the fieldwork and help us evaluate the impact of moving the survey online, both on the representativeness of the sample and robustness of the findings.

Half of the fieldwork will be completed by phone and the other half will be completed online.

This new approach will offer members a more flexible way to get involved and reduce fieldwork costs.

1,500 solicitors will be asked questions about their working lives, including:

  • the hours they work
  • the technology they use
  • their annual earnings
  • their levels of stress
  • their workplace’s culture

We will publish anonymised and aggregated findings in a report in the autumn.

If you’re contacted by Future Thinking, we would be grateful if you would take part.
