Consultation on developing environmental principles and accountability - Law Society response
The Law Society's Planning and Environmental Law Committee has responded to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs consultation on developing environmental principles and accountability.
The consultation focused on governmental proposals on:
- Putting a set of environmental principles into UK law
- Establishing a new independent body to hold the government to account
The Law Society believes that many of the options proposed in the consultation are a positive and practical way forward to addressing the question of environmental law post-Brexit.
