Strengthening Consumer Redress in the Housing Market - Law Society response

13 June 2018

The Law Society Housing Law Committee has responded to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government’s consultation on strengthening consumer redress in the housing market.

The consultation sought opinions on the current systems of consumer redress, practices and powers, areas where access to redress is difficult and the possibility of creating a Single Housing Ombudsman.

The Society’s response welcomed the consultation, as the current routes for redress are disparate, confusing and difficult for consumers to navigate.
