Women Lawyers Division

  • The Law Society is committed to promoting inclusion in the legal profession, reflecting the diversity of our society. The Women Lawyers Division supports and advises all women solicitors and aspiring women solicitors, from trainees to retirees.
    We provide an opportunity for women solicitors to have their voice for heard. Our members work in private practice, and in-house within corporate, public sector and not-for-profit organisations.

    What does the Women Lawyers Division do?

    We are dedicated to meeting the needs of all women solicitors. We deliver key news, regulatory and management information and bring together our services that are relevant to you.

    • We share expertise and experience, and celebrate the achievements of women solicitors.
    • We commission articles from leading women lawyers and legal commentators, on issues of importance to women in the law, as well as practical support and guidance, including on career development.
    • We host an annual conference and the Fiona Wolf lecture.
    • Our Returner course provides solicitors, men and women, with the tools they need to enable them to return to the profession after a career break

    Why should I join?

    Make your voice heard by engaging with the Law Society on diversity matters. Membership of the Women Lawyers Division is free, and is open to all solicitors, aspiring solicitors and their allies.
